My eye first went to the very blue sky. I enjoyed reading this post about Monroe. Very interesting. I agree with you that some of our history is distasteful but it's still part of our story and needs to be told.

That is so interesting. I love reading about the Presidents, and I know next to nothing about Monroe. I learned a lot from your post, and I thank you so much. Wouldn't it be nice if the rich and powerful had such houses now.

I've got just about the same photos from our visit. The day Linda and I were there a wedding was going on in the garden.Seemed more like a real home as compared to Monticello or Montpilier
