THIS POST IS LINKED TO THAT'S MY WORLD.
This covey of chuckar partridges were unusual backyard visitors last week -- on a rare snowy day. __________________________________________________ This is what we woke up to on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Snow really is rare in this part of Oregon -- and especially in November.
If you're reading this from Colorado or Utah or Vermont -- or Sweden -- you'll probably laugh to learn that this amount of snow closes most schools around here.
The snow was pretty much melted by the next day. On Thursday, with our son-in-law driving, we traveled to the Oregon Coast and there wasn't even any snow on the pass. That's an Oregon Winter -- and that's our world.
Ah, that's my Oregon!! We did have some a few really snowy days in Portland scattered over the fourteen years I lived there, but they were rare and they did shut everything down! Terrific pics for the day! Hope your week is off to a great start! Enjoy!

...or Sweden!! haha. haven't they got the most beautiful snowy photos?! Actually, I didn't realize that Oregon was mostly snowless.

Lovely snowy scenes! It's pretty cold here too at the moment. No snow in the smoke yet, but that looks set to change any day now. I hope you are both well and enjoying your travels.

I bet you were humming Partridge in a Pear Tree, Sallie! That's not enough snow to close schools here in CO. We're having another storm as I write this.

It has been cold here, too, but no snow. Winter seems to be early this year. Soon you will be back in sunny Florida getting your boat back in the water. Enjoy!

Sallie, there are only two instances when schools are closed here: extreme heat or extreme rain.
I bet it will take a while to warm up that car to get going.
Thanks for the glimpse of Oregon, I have not traveled that far.

The UK is never prepared for snow-our present early cold blast has brought much of the islands to a stand still.

Lucky you, Sallie. You had not one but two rare sights and both the snow and partridges are delightful sights to see!
Thanks for sharing these sights I never get a chance to see any more.
I'm sure you will be ready to return to your cozy cottage here in sunny south Florida after the holidays.
be well, be happy ;)
Hugs

That is something different for your holiday there. Partridges and snow. Keep warm and take care.

Sally, we have snow here, too in Alsace, and the weather is colder each day.In the past, it was not
uncommon, but for years we didn't see that. Perhaps a very cold winter ahead ?

Your shots are gorgeous. I especially love the birds. I bet it is a treat to get the snow when it's something you are not used to.

I guess you are saying that it snows, but melts pretty fast - I'm surprised. I thought you would have deep snow. sandie
