Oh yeah, "magic" works for me, too. I hate to think of forest fires. Dinner on the water sounds like magic, too.

I agree, magic works for me, too! Love your captures for the day and, yes, dinner on the water sounds perfect! Hope you've had a good week, Sallie! Enjoy your weekend!

Since high school my son has always been the one to point out that the colors are often because of pollution.
I want to side with you and call it magic. :)
Glorious sunset and what a way to end your day on the lake!

J Bar

Beautiful silhouettes at sunset.

Carver

I like magic as the explanation too. Beautiful!

TexWisGirl

yeah, magic is a lot nicer than wildfire excess!

Clair Z.

I like the way you think, Sallie.

Sallie, these are beautiful shots ... I don't think I'd ever leave that boat!

Spectacular shots of golden sky.

I think those smoky conditions are a form of magic. Somehow.

That is a beautiful post.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Barb

Sometimes good really does come from bad! Fabulous end of day, Sallie.

Mickie Brown

Magic or smoke, it sure made it a beautiful sunset. I am amazed at how quickly the sky changes--you can't waste a second when taking a photo. Beautiful shot, Sallie. Have a wonderful weekend. Mickie :)

Ebie

Yes, magic, if I could only tap my wand and make the fires go away.

I have a good laugh of your comment, I guess we are always on the go on weekends, I do not ran out of photos. LOL!

Jackie from Yorkshire

Lovely shots, I love watching the Sun go down, yesterday I put a new memory card in my camera, took shots of the Sunset, but for some reason lost a lot of them. :(
I remember the fantastic sunsets we used to see from Yakima, WA even a year after Mt. St. Helens blew her top.

Yogi

I like the magic theory best also. I'm told our colorful sunsets are due to combination of high nitrous oxides from auto emissions and smoke from grass fires.

Penny

It's magic - and beautiful. An enchanting scene with which to end a day.

JM

Isn't it amazing how everything seems to change in such a short time?! Lovely skies.

Nan

I like the magic idea, too. :<)

I think the smoke is adding some extra 'zing' to the colors, very nice!

I first thought the wood was burning ! That's really a sky on fire !
