Thanks to Stuart for hosting: WILD BIRD WEDNESDAY.
A pair of Elegant Terns parade along the beach, showing off for a crowd of Gulls (Franklin, I think.) I hope I'm right in my Tern ID...if I'm not, just make that capital "E" a lower case one! (And please let me know.)
Don't know what the one in front is doing wrong exactly, but he sure is getting a lecture!
This one reminds me of a picture puzzle from an old child's magazine... "Draw a circle around the two birds that are different from all the others."
I love the top photo! The noisy one in the middle shot reminds me of the young wanting feeding-even when they don't know it.

Terrific shots Sallie!
Loved your title and you are so right about the old magazine picture puzzle.

Great photos of the Terns - we don't have Elegant Terns down here. The noisy one in the middle looks like a juvenile to me too.

Sallie, terns always come up in crossword puzzles, but, I've never really seen one until now. Thank you for this "tern of events".

So many young ones and just two mature adults. Nice shots.
I like the first few where they seem to react to someone saying 'pull your head in'!. It looks really cold and windy.

Fantastic shots of the terns. The last shot would be perfect for children circling the ones that are different from the others.

I love your tern shots Sallie. What I'd give to be close to those carrot bills on that beach right now. I'm sure they are Elegant Terns, elegant too!

Wonderful shots of these terns! Not sure what type, but they are beautiful. I remember that game in Highlights magazine while waiting for the doctor. It was one of my favorite things to do. The tern in the middle photo does look like he's being lectured. Too funny!
