I love the top photo! The noisy one in the middle shot reminds me of the young wanting feeding-even when they don't know it.

Beautiful birds to see Sallie... fantastic images .

Looking at those birds make me in good mood :)
Fine photos !

Great series, Sallie. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Definitely reminds me of my time on the beach in Florida.

Terrific shots Sallie!
Loved your title and you are so right about the old magazine picture puzzle.

Great photos of the Terns - we don't have Elegant Terns down here. The noisy one in the middle looks like a juvenile to me too.

Love the cute terns! Wonderful shots, Sallie!

so true on the last photo. terns always make me laugh!

don“t know the names but they look great. You captured great shot of them. :)

Love the tern "hairdos"! Excellent shots.

WOW isnt the elegant tern is very rare for FL? Amazing!!!

Sallie, terns always come up in crossword puzzles, but, I've never really seen one until now. Thank you for this "tern of events".

So many young ones and just two mature adults. Nice shots.
I like the first few where they seem to react to someone saying 'pull your head in'!. It looks really cold and windy.

Fantastic shots of the terns. The last shot would be perfect for children circling the ones that are different from the others.

Nice pictures - I love watching terns - they are great birds.

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW - Stewart M - Melbourne

Awesome captures, Sallie.. i love your funny commentary :)
I haven't seen an E Tern in person yet :(

be well and happy!

Cute little guys! Love the way the feathers on their head sort of stand up!

Green with envy here on the East-side :)

You certainly know how to tern heads with these lovely pics!

Funny looking birds those two, but rather sweet too!
I'm not familair at all with these birds. Exactly your last comment was to the picture! Well done!
Greetings Pia

I love your tern shots Sallie. What I'd give to be close to those carrot bills on that beach right now. I'm sure they are Elegant Terns, elegant too!

The best hair! Love it.

Your photos are excellent, Sallie and I like the new look of your blog. Very nice indeed.

Wonderful shots of these terns! Not sure what type, but they are beautiful. I remember that game in Highlights magazine while waiting for the doctor. It was one of my favorite things to do. The tern in the middle photo does look like he's being lectured. Too funny!

These are great and made me smile...love those feathers!

Really elegant ones ! We are always looking at the eaglets....

Oh my, they're so beautiful to look at.. ok elegant is the right tern for them, oopppsss I mean term :D

they are too cute!!
i love the little tufts on their heads!!

Wonderful photos of these birds..I remember that type of thing from the magazine "Highlights For Children"...

Awesome shots!
They're so beautiful and they sure made me smile!
