We've heard a lot of myths about what happens if you see a green flash just as the sun goes down. (Click on the blue for the actual scientific explanation.)
In the interest of staying family friendly, let's just say that we've been told it is lucky.
I'm not sure that a boat named after the phenomenon counts. But it was fun to see... and green flash or not, the sunsets on the beach at Knight's Key were truly phenomenol!
Linked to Scenic Weekends. Thank you Gemma.
You knew I would love these water views! Gorgeous lighting! And I had no idea about the "green flash"!

pretty cool name - once you understand what it's about!

Maybe this had something to do with your "green flash".
Depending on when this photo was taken.
"A CLOSELY tracked asteroid, about 45 metres wide, whizzed safely past Earth on Friday, the same day a much smaller, previously undetected meteor hit Russia, injuring nearly 1000 people."
TV channels in the weather reports informed us here when to look and where to point telescopes and binoculars. Seen apparently from here early in the morning, Saturday 16th, Australian time.
I was too lazy to get up, have done so on previous occasions, which are rare and not seen a thing! Bugger.
Cheers
Colin (Brisbane. Australia)

here, today, was gray - and no flash, just one long day of gray until black descended into night time/ painting the new house interior peach before moving in with the chosen possessions. -looking at a yard sale this summer. I think if finding green flash boat, while photo shooting green flash in sky, you should probably buy a lottery ticket to see if luck continued.

Wonderful, wonderful pics of the sky. Very interesting about the green flash, - entirely new to me, probably because I have never lived near the sea - prairies and mountains which produce gorgeous skies, but no green flashes that I have seen. Exceedingly satisfied with our blue skies and sunshine here today!!!!! Thank you for your note, Sallie - it's all a matter of time, I'm sure.

Green flash or no these are very nice pictures.
In fact I actually like the fact that you could view the whole picture as a pun or joke about the green flash made me smile.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
PS: I have fiddled with my blog template to make the images bigger - let me know if you think its an improvement!

Love these photos! They make me want to be there.
I've never seen the green flash, but we always look for the cup and saucer. Seriously! Have you seen just a tiny bit of time before the sun dips below the horizon?
