We don't see many birds right outside our windows in Florida. Our space is pretty much deck and the Canal where we dock our boat, not great bird habitat.
But there are trees throughout the resort and it is bordered by wetlands, a golf course, and a wooded natural area. I walk around the park most days, so the whole place is kind of our backyard. Here are some recent sightings.
I've been fooled by this bird before, but once again I wondered for a minute if some RVer left their kitten behind when they left for the season. I was happy when the catbird flew out of the tree, meowing as it landed!
A pretty pair of ground doves, rather ironically caught perched on a branch.
Mockingbirds are everywhere this time of year, just singing their little hearts out!
Woody in a carrot tree. This year we didn't have one pounding on the light post near our bedroom window. Can't say I missed that alarm clock!
