Flying isn't a whole lot of fun these days, but it sure gets you where you want to go faster than the alternatives. This time of year, it can be especially problematical. We had a five-hour weather-caused delay during our cross-country flight last week.
But it wasn't here in snowy Salt Lake City -- this stopover was exactly the two hours it was supposed to be -- just time for us to get some breakfast and admire the beautiful views from the windows.
The delay was at our next stop -- in Atlanta. We waited a long time for our plane to arrive from someplace where it had been snowed in -- and then another hour after we were on board while they de-iced.
We don't complain about delays for safety reasons. Really. Not even when it means we got to Fort Myers at 2 in the morning. We didn't complain, but we didn't get a whole lot accomplished the rest of last week either.
