On our kitchen counter after a trip to the produce market: A honeydew melon, three kinds of winter squash, a couple of sweet potatoes, some miniature pumpkins, an assortment of apples, a basket of tomatoes, a couple of bananas (not local) AND
(not shown) ABOUT 900 FRUIT FLIES.
Where the heck do these things come from every Fall? I know -- there's a whole encyclopedia or ten right here at my fingertips -- but I don't think I really want to know the answer to this one. Happy Fall. I'm going away now to put my produce in the refrigerator!
I have an idea about fruit flies. I'm thinking that if I get one of those carnivorous plants and put it near the compost bucket it should work, shouldn't it? One of these days I'm gonna try it.

Chatty: Neatness is easier when you live in as tiny a space as we do. The kitchen counter can be seen from everyplace in the RV. So we have to put things away -- I didn't necessarily always do that when we had our stick house.
Krystal and Margot: The pictured produce was from our last visit to the stand. It will close after today (Halloween). So now it's back to the supermarket (and no more tomatoes while we're here -- because I agree, then ones at the supermarket aren't really real).

That's a gorgeous picture. Where DO those flies come from? Glad to see you can still get tomatoes. I just love the "real" tomatoes. I don't think they will be real too much longer.

I sure am missing trips to the produce market right now. I do not miss the fruit flies though!

I don't think I have a kitchen counter! I would never show you a picture of it when yours is so beautiful!
Good Morning!
