Today I have pictures featuring off-shades of red. VISIT RUBY TUESDAY to see more photographs featuring real reds!
Pictures from the Chinese Garden in downtown Portland, Oregon taken last Summer. This lovely garden spot is right in the center of downtown. People who work or live in the City must appreciate having this place nearby for a break from the stress and hustle and bustle.
We enjoy visiting big cities and certainly weren't under any stress, but we loved the Garden's quiet beauty and were glad we toured it.
Hey - I just heard a story about lily pads - do you know in a month they can replicate and take over the whole pond - starting with just two?
Beautiful pictures by the way.

In all our time in Portland we never went to the Chinese Gardens. I'm mad at myself. Your pictures are fantastic. We did visit the Japanese Gardens however, as well as the Rose Garden. Portland is a lovely place as well as the rest of Oregon. It sounds like you have thoroughly enjoyed living there.

Thanks for sharing the photo of the water garden. I have visited the rose gardens in Portland but didn't realize there was a water garden. We visit Portland every couple of years as I have an Aunt and cousin there.

What lovely photos of this beautiful place. While attending CSU at Long Beach, I loved to walk over to the Japanese Gardens nearby and sit for a while ... sometimes writing in my journal and other times just drinking in the peacefulness. I also enjoyed Henningston Gardens in Taos, NM next to the Mable Dodge Luhan Conference Center. Such places are restorative to the spirit. Of course, the beach in winter has much the same effect on me ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
