This gentleman is a royal guard at Windsor Castle. His bright uniform jacket stands out against the lovely old stone building. We were lucky to get this picture without crowds of other tourists around. We were somehow surprised at how young all of the royal guards were.
(Both of these pictures are from our 2008 trip.)
Here is a less-subtle red icon from London. We lived without a car for the three months we were in London, so we used these double-deckers often. Our favorite seat was the top front one.

Well you know I love red. Can't believe you captured a picture of the guard with no one around. When we went to Europe we had one day in London and I have always hoped we could go back. We have had fog all week and I feel like I am back in the Seattle/Tacoma area again. Suppose to have rain today and hope it will wash some of the salt and sand from the streets. Have a good week Sallie.

Hi Sallie,
Wow, that red jacket of the guard really does stand out against that stone. I'm amazed you got a picture with no tourists in it - a great shot.
Hope all is well with you and your hubby.

I never tire of London imagery, despite seeing it every day. I also prefer to sit in the front seat at the top! I have really enjoyed reading through your London blog and looking at the pictures. Nice to see that others enjoy London south of the river (especially Greenwich!) as this is where I live!

Lots of red here! London is almost mythical to me--I know it exists, but only because I've heard about it from others. Many others--that's why I believe them. Thanks for confirming its existence once again! I love the picture of the Royal Guard.

Wow he is not moving or anything? Very well self-controlled. Thanks for sharing!

A job like that must be very hard as you stand all day.

I love the bright red! We are getting snow today. The pine needles, so bright a green, are getting covered up.
Great shots! Thank you for visiting My Muskoka !
