Margot at Joyfully Retired

An educational post from my point of view. It doesn't seem to be on the radar of the national media anymore and, honestly, I was unaware of the lack of progress. Sad is definitely the common trait here.

Sacred Ruminations

Wow ... this is so sad. Thanks for sharing these views to raise our awareness what what we haven't seen for ourselves. I guess it'll take a long time to rebuild with confidence.
Hugs and blessings,

Bl-O-G -- Thank you for your comment. That's exactly what we are afraid of and exactly what we hope.

And I wonder why the words tragedy and scandal seem so often to go together. I'm thinking of Haiti now too.....

Blissed-Out Grandma

New Orleans is both a tragedy and a scandal. I'm afraid the Lower Ninth will continue in this same pattern for another five or ten years and then the developers will take over much of it. I hope somehow the great spirit of the people will survive and flourish.

Quasi Serendipita

This is a wonderful post - but so sad. The pictures are great, they really make the place look "forgotten" somehow.

That is too sad. Thanks for sharing the photos so that we could the effects too.

Lady Fi

No school for almost five years? So sad that this area is not getting the help it really needs.

Chatty Crone

I cannot even imagine what these poor people had to go through. Some of them came to Georgia - and registered their kids at school - with no records. Can you imagine?
