This Night-Blooming Cactus is at home across the street from us -- in our neighbor's yard. It's in partial shade, so if we're up early enough, we can see it bloom in daylight. (Must admit that most mornings, it is closed up by the time we look.)
Didn't even notice the delicate shadow pattern on the top petals until I enlarged the picture.
A perfect moment saved by accident!
The colors on this boom look almost unreal...

Now you've disproved that flower's name, haven't you? I also like the delicate shadows on the petals.

I've never seen anything like this and probably won't. It's nice to know people who have good camera skills and a willingness to get up early. So beautiful.

That's an amazing flower and the photographer did an equally amazing job. I can just see you creeping around the neighbor's yard in the early morning wearing your pjs with camera in hand.

This is a beautiful capture Sallie!
It's a shame it only blooms at night. Such beauty hidden in the dark. Love the delicate shadows within the shadowy part of the image.
Well done Ms. Sallie! :)

It is lovely, too bad it hides itself from view during the day. With its white color it is probably only interested in night flying moths to polinate it, not humans to view it.
