WORLD BIRD WEDNESDAY is hosted weekly by Springman at Pine River Review. Go do some bird watching.
Our local eagles live west of us off Bayshore, the street we travel every time we drive out of our RV Park. I have to force myself not to look if I'm driving .. when Bill does, I'm craning my neck out the window every time we pass One day last week, one of them was out and we had time to stop for a while. (The trees are in an undeveloped area next to a church, so most days there is ample room to park.) There's a nest in an adjacent tree, but the babies weren't posing. We'll visit again.
Nice look at the baldy Sallie! Your getting some great chances with that eagle eye of yours. I can hardly wait to get a look at the hatchlings!

LOL - you drive like I do when there are birds around.
But srsly, who wouldn't stop and look at such a great bird?

Ever since I saw two eagles in a tree above our cul de sac, I look up every time I drive home! I am addicted to looking for eagles.

It is such a beautiful bird. And a very good close up shot. And they are endangered too, right?

It is rare to see these eagles much anymore. This is a very good shot of this big bird.

Beautiful shot, Sallie. We use to see quite a few Eagles but not after the 2004 hurricane blew their nesting trees down. I miss seeing the fledglings.
hugs,
Pam

Fascinating story. I never thought of eagles being in Florida in the winter. We have thousands of them that come here to winter along the Missouri River and the Mississippi River. Eagle watching is one of the biggest winter activities during January and February.

Wishing we had a local eagle, but our ridge just isn't suitable habitat. Great shot!

Fantastic capture. They are so royal in their appearance.

The bird can harm you if you go too close to the babies, I think, it happened to me once, though the bird in question was a crow!!
Loved the pic, the eagle looks majestic and posing well for you:)
Have a great day:)

Sallie, it is my turn to be awed!
How lucky to 'capture' this majestic creature.
An eagle in the wild is my ultimate wish list.
I've learned they are nesting a few hours away from me at a local dam. It's on my summer to go to list. :)
