What a clever entry on the Skywatch theme!

Nicole

I've never seen one of these. Must be cool & impressive to watch :)!

Inger-M

Hi again, Sallie,
Thanks for your kind words on both my blogs! Blogging through our ordeal was a great way to get the correct information out to friends all over the world, and it was also therapeutic for me to go though the day's events every evening. I'm glad you enjoyed reading about it.
Our first grandson is our light and joy, and we are so grateful that we both get to experience it :-)

Donnie

Used to live in Ft Myer's Beach, Fl when they had a swing bridge and remember the waits. Great photos.

NatureFootstep Photography

the open bridge make a great shot.

Margot

How much fun that must be to be under that open bridge. I'm always the one looking at it from the other side and grumbling about how slow traffic is.

diane

IT looks impressive. Can you sneak through behind someone else?

donna

Well, don't get in legal trouble with the bridge. I don't have the time or money to travel to FL and bail you out of jail. ha-ha

The photos really do make it look as if the bridge opened just for you...the special guest.

So, so sorry that I haven't been around much. It had nothing to do with me struggling with snow while you were basking in the sun:) 99.9% of our snow is gone. Snowdrops and crocuses blooming, but that's all.

Hope you are well and happy.

Interesting, and great shots!

Arti

Love the fact how its raising high, probably dreaming to touch the skies... Beautiful capture as always :)

Carletta

When we lived in Virginia it seemed no matter which way you decided to go you might have to wait for a bridge. In the last few years as bridges have had to be replaced they rebuild them higher.
Much more interesting to see it open from the water instead of the grid facing you. :)
Nicely done Sallie.

Annie

There are same bridges(but lower) in Sète, a beautiful and strange town of south of France, where my grand-parents lived.
All the children was happy (and a little afraid too) to see them , and I too !

Rita aka Cashjocky

I visited Florida in 1984 and I remember seeing a bridge like this then. Lovely shot and what a nice day to be on the water.

Sally in WA

Excellent shot, Sallie. I've always thought it was fun to go boating under an open bridge like that. Like you said, its nice to have the extra room, even if not needed.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Lady Fi

I really like this shot!

Martha Z

I remember seeing the drawbridges in Florida. Some would open only on the quarter hour and some on the half hour as I recall.
I've got a lot of catching up to do in blogland. Three weeks gone and often no internet or it wouldn't download pictures.
I've hundreds of images from the Colorado Plateau to sort through so I relate to your earlier post. You won't see many of the desert plants such as you posted but I've got lots of shots of red rocks.

Barb

The bridge looks like it's saluting the sky!

Hildred

Nice shot, Sallie, - it looks like a perfect way to spend a sunny day.

vernz

wow, human marvel... great shot, great frame!

Eileen

Cool capture and lovely skies! Happy skywatching, Sallie! Have a great weekend!

Sylvia Kirkwood

Looks as though it is framing your lovely skies! Great shots for the day, Sallie! Hope you have a delightful weekend! Enjoy!
