SHARED WITH THE FRIENDLY COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO POINT THEIR EYES AND THEIR CAMERAS UP. Visit them at SKYWATCH FRIDAY
Here's the view across the street to the west. ........ Straight out of the camera, these were taken from our front and backyards one morning last week -- within less than 10 minutes of each other.
And from the back of the cottage looking East across the Canal.
It feels like magic when moonset and sunsight are simultaneous.
..................................................
Here's the beautiful morning five minutes after the dawn picture:
A great beginning to a beautiful day!
Looks like a great start into the day indeed.
Love that moon shot!

The moon over the palm-tree looks mysterious, like a painting of the Douanier Rousseau. Thanks forthese beautiful shots !

A delightful set of shots, Sallie...they are a quite magical triptych...:)

Sallie, you could frame those two top shots. The hues of the blue and orange skies with the silhouettes are so complimentary. Lovely.

Feel good photos. Just Lovely.

If only I could see the sun to start a day! The Oregon weather has been typically brutal. Today? Clouds and rain yet again. Temperatures in the 50's again. Memorial Day weekend, sigh.

A magical morning!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend Sallie! Stay safe.

I particularly like that sunrise shot. I get up early every weekday, but I can't seem to get my butt out of bed on weekends to get shots like this.

Very very cool. I love the moon in daylight anyway. When you can catch a moonset and a sunrise you are living right.

Love the pictures, especially the last one. The morning sunrise and the stillness of the water. Just a few more days and I will be on the road. Will be back up north June 1. I already have my list of what I need to do around the house. Be safe and looking forward to next season. Judy

You have beautiful views from your lovely canal cottage, Sallie.
Happy journeys going home to Oregon. I can't wait to see pictures from there.
be Happy and Well,
Pam

Lovely Sallie! How strange to be able to view both those shots together. The world is a "magical" place in so many ways. Have a wonderful weekend. Mickie :)

Beautiful indeed.

This phenomenon does seem almost like magic. I like your pictures. They are so clear. So glad you used the correct word (sunsight) to describe what you saw.
Posted by: Margot | May 26, 2011 at 09:55 PM
I love the light in the first two; the cool moonlight and the warm sunshine! And it looks like you were in for a beautiful day!

Wonderful shots. Love the changing color of the sky.

You captured the light beautifully. It must be fun living along the canal!
I love your description of skywatch, "THE FRIENDLY COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO POINT THEIR EYES AND THEIR CAMERAS UP"

Delightful photos, Sallie. Isn't it a joy to see the moon going down and the sun coming up? And the reflections in the last picture are wonderful.

Nice clear skies and I like that glassy surface on the canal. I hope if you are heading across the country you avoid the tornadoes. I've been thinking about what it must be like to travel across the Midwest right now.

Oh, definitely a gorgeous way to begin the day, Sallie! Marvelous captures and definitely perfect timing! Love it when that happens! I've made some changes in my comment section, hope it will make it easier to comment. Several others have had problems so I hope this works! Have a great weekend!
