Cool shots of the storks, Sallie! I would love to see one in person. They are neat looking birds.

Pat

Do the males have black beaks? These photos are great!

sandra

I went and have looked at all your pictures - so incredibly awesome. You are getting to see so many wonderful wonderful sites!

Al

Nice shots, and a fun commentary to go with it. He definitely looks like he's trying to attract attention!

TexWisGirl

Pat Ulrich

Very cool to see them displaying! They are cool birds!

dianne

he IS really a handsome guy
he's the Mick Jagger of the stork world :)

Yogi

That is very funny. Kind of reminds me of us humans for some reason.

Martha

Eagle Lake's Merrill campground is the only forest service campground I have ever seen with hook-ups! If your travels take you anywhere near the Susanville area I'd recommend it.

Carletta

Wow, what a wingspan!
I love that you caught 'the dance.' :)

Lady Fi

What gorgeous shots! That crane's feathers really are lovely. Such an amusing series of pics too.

Nicole

Amazing :D
And she totally ignores that poor chap :D
I just now realized that your storks look totally different than ours (the old world storks?)
:)

Sondra

HOW comical--they are stunning bird until you look at the face then you kinda say "UGH" he was def--strutting his stuff!! Hope your trip is going great--IM baking back here in the Sunny humid South.

Mick

Great photos and I like the commentary!

Andrew

A beautiful bird to see...lovely images

Annie

Very handsome and...big ! In Alsace where I lived before, we could see storks, so beautiful with their orange beak and legs. They are supposed to bring babies... Is-it the same in United-States ?

Martha

I love to watch the courting behavior. These creatures are quite entertaining.

Jean

Very cool bird and thoughts!:)

Boom & Gary

Great pics and comments. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Barb

Love the shots! humourous notes!

Hazel

Fantastic shots, Sallie!

holdingmoments

That's quite a wingspan he has!

springman

Oh Sallie, Your right, we are sharing storks this week! Yours are the "real" wild kind as opposed to mine which was a bit of a set up being taken at the Shorebirds Rehab in Florida of a tame bird. I was able to use a super sharp 50mm prime lens that gives razor sharp detail. I get no extra points for shooting in a zoo! How I would like to see them such as you have! ;-)WBW

Pam

His fan dance is just not working for her. Picky, picky stroke girl doesn't seem to be interested in him at all.
Nice series of shots, Sallie.

Happy trails and tales,
Pam
