FOR SKYWATCH FRIDAY. We're on our roadtrip -- our pictures just haven't caught up. This one's from the backyard, just before we left -- a week ago today.
It looks a little bit like a black rabbit to me. But whatever it looks like, it means it's going to rain.
This was a stormy afternoon sky above the Canal Cottage the week before we left. There are often afternoon storms, sometimes with thunder and lightning, this time of year. But unlike many other parts of the country, Southwest Florida needs more rain and storm clouds are welcome.
I see the black rabbit!

I see the black rabit too and hope that the rain was not plentiful 8 Isaw images of towns after the storms in Massachussetts : it was so frightening !

I can see the rabbit ears, and the lion with wings. I love cloud watching. A terrific shot.

I see a mythical lion with wings. :)
We have had thunderstorms for a couple of days. It's been in the nineties and so hot.
Hope you're having a wonderful day wherever you are!

Looks like a beauty coming on!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

We have the same forecast-but with sunny periods in between! This is the day there is a warning of water shortages for parts of the UK....

Sallie, How are you? Stormy or not, your photo is of a beautiful and interesting looking sky. As I sit before the computer right now, the tornado sirens are going, the wind is gusting to 50 miles an hour, the torrential rain is pounding on the roof, and hail is coming down just a mile away--just another spring night in Kansas. We have certainly had "weather" lately. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Mickie :)

Ah, it does look stormy! I, too, love the contrasts! Terrific capture for the day, Sallie! Hope you have a great weekend!

I love the contrasts — the beautiful blue, the bright white, the gray clouds above and below, with the black rabbit in the midst of it all.

I do not think you ever spend a dull moment. You all never stop. Love these shots from my old neck of the woods. They are beautiful. Hope you have a great holiday and get home safe and sound with lots of great shots to share with us in the future. Genie

So the rain came shortly after you snapped this photo? Did you get drenched?
RED SKY IN MORNING
Red sky in morning,
Sailors take warning!
Who knows what might happen out on the sea?
Waves riding high,
Waves to the sky,
Waves crashing and dashing all over me!
Red sky at night,
Sailors delight!
Leeward or windward we sail with no fear;
Water is calm,
Healing like balm—
Ahoy, fellow sailors, landfall is near!

I have never been good at spotting things in clouds... it took awhile, and only because you put it out there, but I think I see the black bunny.

Lovely clouds for those of us who love storms, Sallie, and I definitely see a fluffy angora rabbit in there!
Road trips are the best...can't wait to see your trip pics when you're back...:)

This is sky-art.
Wonderful blues together and such an elegant cloud pattern.
We also have rainless cloudformations and are craving a bit of the wet stuff.
