Evelyn

The missing one must have been pursuing a fish :). It's such a nice photo, Sallie. It looks quite peaceful. Happy Weekend, Ev

Neil

Grebes are not easy to photograph they dive and come back up a long way from where you are looking for them. Great photo.

Larry Jordan

Great shot of the Western Grebe among the reeds Sallie! I love grebes and you have captured this one nicely!

Emille

Oh shocks -how long did you wait for the other one to come back up? But at least you have a great twirly reflection!

'Tsuki

That's ok for the reed... It is not always easy to take picture of birds, and this one is particulary good !

Nicole

Those are gorgeous! I love Grebes :)
It probably came up at the other end of the pond ;)

JM

The reflections are fantastic! What a lovely image.

Francisca

The second grebe was camera-shy. But this one is a beauty, with a lovely reflection, and the curly reeds are a bonus!

Hilke Breder

Great capture, Sallie! I guess the second bird held its breath longer than you could!:-)

Barb

I like the movement in the photo as much as the Grebe!

Rajesh

Wonderful shot of the bird with nice reflections.

Ebie

I have yet to photograph a grebe. I hardly see them here in our sea life. Maybe I need to explore more areas.

The photo looks like a painting, nice one!

Carver

I love this shot. Very dreamy with the reflection.

Sondra

Excellent..I could watch them for hours diving and surfacing...The curly reeds are really COOL!

Crafty Green Poet

that's a lovely photo and a very handsome grebe

Pat

This is really lovely! I love all the marvelous reflections!

Annie

More and more beautiful ! I like the red in the grebe's eye and the curly-looking wawes !

Margot

This is a stunning photo in so many ways. I guess because I'm not a bird photographer, I noticed thos curly lines in the water right away. You live in a beautiful area.

Arija

Yep, that's the way bird photography works. You concentrate on the bird and never know what else you get as a bonus. Great one.

Stewart M - Australia

Hi there - thats a really nice picture - I like the combination of movement and stillness - very nice!

SM

Gattina

Beautiful picture !

Penny

I just love this picture, Sallie. The reeds and their reflection have so much energy and movement which contrasts with the stillness of the grebe. However you caught him, he is just a little off-center, which really makes for a great composition.

Carletta

His red eye really stands out and I LOVE those reflections - of the reeds and the grebe!

Hildred

A beautiful capture, Sallie, - the reflections are lovely.

Al

Very nice - I love those reflections as the bird's background.

Eileen

That is my luck, they take a dive right when I am going to click the photo. At least you got the one Grebe. Great sighting.

bettyl

That's such a lovely, peaceful shot! Don't you love it when the pictures come out so much better than expected!

fjällripan

Beautiful bird and I like the reflection. I know the situation, when they dive and simply dissapear...:)

Mick

Beautiful bird and reflections!

Andrew

The Grebe family are such lovely birds.
Lovely capture.

Gosh yes, the distortion in the reeds reflection is beyond cool. Brilliant capture!
