Crafty Green Poet

very sweet to see this family (and hear their conversation!)

Jeannette StG

The kids sure look like their parents! Have a great weekend!

Fotokarusellen

A wonderful post and some great shots. Well done.

A nice weekend to you.

Arija

What fun to listen in to some family admonitions. Nice captures.

Barb

Mama and babies out for a stroll. You were at the right place at the right time to see it!

JM

It's amazing how many species of turkey there are and I like them all.

Sondra

HOW SWEET...saw a flock of adults at a nearby pond on my way to work the other day...I wanted to stop and hang out with the turkeys, looked to be a lot more fun than working!

Pat

Great captures of this little family!

Al

Great post and nice photos - I've never seen turkeys in the wild. Just on the dinner plate!

springman

Excellent post Sallie! It looks like you were walking with them. Don't you love their gorgeous feathers especially when the sun lights them up? Cheers to you!

Carletta

Ahhh, I have to be envious!
You know I always have turkeys but this summer we have not seen babies.
Great captures Sallie!

joo

Such a lovely post! So sweet:)

Carver

I have only seen wild turkeys a few times. They are so much fun to watch. You got some good shots.

diane

Oh, they are so sweet.

Hi - nice turkey - must get nervous in early July!

I started the bluebird, blue-bird , blue bird thing last week with a picture of a satin bower bird, which is a blue bird but not a bluebird! Then I found this one - which should be purple, but is not!

I think this kind of thing is interesting – the way we force “understanding” from one part of the world on to the next, even if it really makes no sense at all. Next week I think I may put up a picture of a Robin (a red bird!) which has no relationship to American or European robins, but has the same name!

Hazel

Amazing to me! A lovely sight to capture!

Mick

Great photos and how nice to have a family of turkeys walking ahead of you.

Margot

I'm sure that is exactly what the mama was saying. I love that white head.

I used the Edison Estates post for my Wondrous Words Wednesday.

Larry Jordan

I love seeing the Wild Turkeys with their poults this time of year.

TexWisGirl

so sweet! your commentary made it even more so.

Francisca

What's interesting to me here, Sally, is that I normally find turkeys a rather unattractive bird... but these are pretty cool!

Penny

Aw. Aren't they cute? I've seen wild turkeys, but, not with their babies waddling behin. What a sight.

pam

Kids.. their all the same whether animal or human. Mommy always knows best.

LOL,
Pam

Clair Z.

It always amazes me that in spite of all of our effects on the world that our country remains as wild as it does! What a nice walk you had with these wildlings.

Eileen

How cool, I've never seen baby turkeys before. Great sighting and photos. I hope they stay safe.

Boom & Gary

Great story Sallie!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

holdingmoments

Always a watchful eye over the young ones. :-)

Andrew
