LINKED TO RUBY TUESDAY. Click the link to see red! Thank you Mary.
Any guesses what fruit this is?
It looked good enough to pick for your salad (and maybe it is; I've heard they are edible.).
These were the prettiest rose hips I've ever seen. They were blooming on a hedge of wild roses, also at the recycling facility.
Oh yes they are edible, can make a tea for that too.

If it's about the size of a medium cherry tomato, it could be rose hip. In the Netherlands they use it to make jam (very tasty). Hve no idea how it would taste when uncooked.

In Alsace, where I lived before we prepare jam with rose hips ! It's a difficult and long work but in the morning, during breakfast it's so tasty !

I haven't seen wild roses in more years than I care to count, they hold there own unique beauty for me. Rose hips are pretty to look at and perfectly named, not to sure I'd want to eat one.
be happy n well Sallie

My mother used to dry them and then in wintertime made soup to us because of all the c-vitamines :)
I love their flowers!

Great rose hips. I've never used them, but they are edible:
