It's a perfect time to visit the Farmer's Market in downtown Eugene. Summer tomatoes and peppers are still bountiful (for a little while longer) and the colorful and delicious Fall crops are coming on strong.
It's hard to pick and choose -- but easy to eat locally and healthfully.
I really like the top photo. The farmer who arranged that display is an artist.

A colourful collection of pumpkins and veggies. Do you decorate with the pumpkins, I wish I had picked some up at our nearest military commisary now, but I didn't and I won't be going back until November now.

Isn't this just the most beautiful time of year? Great photos.

I'm a regular at our farmers markets and my own garden gives a respectable harvest even though I am not around enough in the summer to do much more than pick the tomatoes.

What luscious vegetables in gorgeous autumn colors. Such foods are better not left for the eyes alone. :)

Hi there - that looks like soup heaven! What a great range. Have just had raised garden beds built behind our house - roll on the veggie patch!

Wondrous bounty, Sallie. We only have a few left here, the gourds, pumpkins, apples. I love their goodness and freshness and I am reminded that we won't be able to eat much fresh local for much longer.

I think it is wonderful to buy local produce. It looks like you have a beautiful selection there too, Sallie! Wonderful and colorful photos. Have a great day!

Bountiful crops. Everything looks so farm fresh! I miss my farmers' market just across my office. Sigh, I only have a 30-minute lunch break.

What a great choice, and all so fresh. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

So healthy.
Reminds me: I'd better cook that cauliflower out in the back hall :-)
