FOR SIGNS SIGNS, hosted by Lesley
Conversation when traveling along State Highway 20 in California a couple of weeks ago.
"It'll be Nice in 10 miles."
"Oh isn't this Nice?"
"Wait a minute, was that Nice?"
So maybe it was more Nice (Nicer?) off the highway somewhere. The only thing we saw in Nice was this advertisement for a bed and breakfast.
I had to check to see where "Nice" is, I thought I had never heard of it. Now I realize I've driven through it several times. You are more observant than I.

This is the kind of nice town William Least Heat-Moon would have picked to travel to... :-)

hee hee...
This reminds «Louis» of "church lady" types in his Texas childhood saying "Well! Isn't that nice?", the nice drawn out in a drawl, dripping with sarcasm. When you heard that, you KNEW they thought it was anything BUT NICE!

I'm trying to think of another word to describe this post, but nice is really the only appropriate thing to say. Well, I can also say it was fun. Hope your travels are going well.

Ha, I've noticed that some of the more pleasant town names belong to little more than wider spaces in the road.

I'm very happy ! If you are in Nice, perhaps are you in France on the French Riviera ?

Nice post, Sallie! Being nice is underated these days. Did I ever tell you that you're nice? You are.

Thats funny. Of course in France they pronounce it differently. We have those sort of conversations too.

I love fun town names and I, too, take photos of them when we travel. This was a good catch!

Maybe it's pronounced the French way? ;)

What a fun and clever entry this is! I would hope the B&B is nice. ;-)
Thanks for the visit and comment on my Flagstaff sign. It's pretty cold here (in Indiana) for ice cream, too.
