These guys were sort of hidden among the birds in this mosaic of our kayak excursion on the Estero River. I think they deserve to shine on their own!

They certainly do deserve to shine! To me, it would be so exotic to see these in the wild. Great shots!

Great shot. The low angle makes it all the more powerful.

Oh, they do deserve it, Sallie. They're wonderful. And a super photo.
I must convince my husband to visit turtle territory this summer instead of dragging me off to the other side of the world yet again. (I know, I shouldn't complain, but it would be nice to head west with the dog in the car on an extended photo-hunt).

Big turtles ! Here in France, a few years ago, these turtles was sod when they were very little (4 inches). But they grew bigger and bigger ! People threw them away in rivers and ponds where they eat fishes and all what they could find. Now it's forbidden to sell or buy them..

Hi there - nice shot. I have never managed to get a good picture of any of our turtles. So, well done.

PS: is there any significance to the two 'i's in the title of your blog?

Turtles just love to sun bath. I wonder if that is why they are so brown?
Nice shots Sallie,
Pam :)

Fantastic image you've shared. I love it. We're not seeing to many fresh water turtles around here, here of late because of the extreme drought. So this is a special treat.

Cute! I loved it when we had two turtles! They were so fun to watch! They started as tiny little things that grew into needing a small outside pond!
