SHARED WITH: MOSAIC MONDAY and OUR WORLD TUESDAY. Added after reading some comments: A poker run is usually done by bicycles, motorbikes, cars, or runners -- I'd never heard of one by boats until we came here. The idea is to pick up a card from five designated stops and then the best poker hand wins.
THE SKY pictures I posted Friday.
THE BOATS (some of them) and more sky:
THE SCENERY (and more sky):
THE STOPS (most of them) AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE* WHO HELPED:
*And a fine job they did, except when it came to handing out a winning hand to our boat! But the $5.00 entry fee was a very small price to pay for a fun day.
We finished up the morning with a delicious lunch at the Upriver Clubhouse. A good time was had by all.
What fun! that really looks a great place to visit also.

I'd never heard of a poker run either. What a great idea. I'll have to remember this one for some future event.

Thanks for the explanation of "a poker run" and for the lovely photos. I too wondered why it was so called.
DON'T strain your eyes by spending too long on the PC.

Wow, the winning prize is the boatload of fun! I'd like to be in that speed boat!
On the mudpots, they said that there are two locations, buy I only saw one. Hope to go back there someday, maybe next January, when the weather is not that hot.

That sounds like a lot of fun and great water shots. I think doing it with boats would be more fun than the other kinds.

Really opposite with my photos but colours are like in our flag - white and blue, white from my photos blue from yours :)
But I would like to jump there just for a couple of days between these white months - we really have slowly thicker and thicker snow cover five - six months every year.
Happy days to you and yours!
I saw those your little ones - we will get tomorrow 2 and 4 years old grandchildren here for a week :)

Hi Sallie, it looks like a beautiful and fun day. I was wondering how the poker fit in too?
Posted by: Eileen | February 20, 2012 at 12:42 PM
Well that looks like a great fun day with co-operating weather.
You will have to explain when and how the "poker" game fitted in? That sure is a "newy" to me - ha ha.
Cheers from sauna days and stormy nights in Brisbane!

It's not about winning, just having fun. ;)
I grew up in a boating family and kind of miss it. Yet not a lot of places to boat near here.
