Pictures of our two great-grandsons, from last year.
(Which is a blink of the eye for us, half a lifetime ago for these little ones.)
It's fun the way having little ones in the family again brings back great memories. My Dad read this classic aloud to me and I read it to our kids (including the Grandmother of these two shadow-casters). Even in this computerized age, I'm pretty sure toddlers wonder about shadows. And great-grandmothers (and other bloggers) are still fascinated by them!
My Shadow (from "A Child's Garden of Verses)
I remember that poem...those kids are so cute and great-grandchildren..I am waiting just for one grandchild..

I love both the babies and the poem. I'd actually forgotten the poem until I saw it here. Funny how all the words came right back to me.

What darling boys they are, Sallie, and twice the fun with shadows. I imagine those shadows are a tad bigger now to keep up with these little ones. This is a favorite poem of mine as well that I've also quoted from. Life is grand - and if we are lucky, greatgrand!

Wonderful photos, Sallie, and I had forgotten about that poem. I had The Child's Garden of Verses, too. (Now, don't ask me why I have tears in my eyes.)

Wonderful shadow shots of your grandchildren playing. They are adorable. I still have my copy of the Child's Garden of Verses from my childhood and it held up fine for my daughter too.

Shadows fascinate both young and old. I'm always aware of shadows when I'm photographing. My little Grands like to step on each other's shadows.

That is one poem I had to memorize in school and still remember, at least the first part.
Ah, memories built through the generations.
