For SKYWATCH FRIDAY of course. And really really late!! Thanks to the hosting team.
The blue moon at the end of last month (is it September already?) wasn't real cooperative here at the Lake . It was beautiful, but at its fullest it was just not positioned right to give much context or contrast (the real kind -- without the use of Picasa).
But for three nights, it did cast a beautiful silver and golden glow on the Lake.
Magical late summer evenings.
(But for reality's sake here is Earth-Sky's definition and explanation of a blue moon.)
Lovely shots.

Of course you know I meant lack of co-operation, sorry!

You managed to get some lovely photos Sallie, despite its co-operation.

Nice moon shots!

when the sky is dark it is very hard to get a good shot at the moon. It is too bright to show any carachteristics. Best time to get good moon shots is when the sky is still rather bright, blue in color. But I liked what you did with it.
I´m glad you like my header. I will probably keep it for a long time.

Blue Moon is a wonderful astrological event that is occurred after 3-4 years. I also saw this few days ago.

I was never able to get a good shot of it either. But, then I have never been good at moon shots.
I do love the glow on the water though and we often go over to the park and walk around the lake during the full moons for just that reason.

Blue and gold are the perfect compliment. I like what you did to the "blue" moon.

Boo, I missed out on the whole blue moon experience and now have to wait a number of years before another chance presents itself. These are really good. The shot of the moon with the sailboat is so beautiful.

LOVE the middle shot with the sailboat!
I can hear Frank Sinatra in the background singing Blue Moon.
Yes, I'm a romantic at heart. :)
