(Thinking of everyone on the East Coast and hoping for a full and fast recovery. )
This is actually an evening sky -- sort of a reflection of the sunset because we're looking east here -- over the lake in front of our RV -- where I usually take sunrise pictures.
So this post is for both SKYWATCH FRIDAY and WEEKEND REFLECTIONS.
The evening light created strange inkwash-like bird reflections.
Thanks to the Skwatch team and to James at Weekend Reflections.
So beautiful and serene ! Seeing your shots we can understand why you like the lake so much.

These are such images of tranquility, Sallie. My day is ended here and these leave me with peaceful thoughts.

That whole composition is terrific Sallie. Did you pay the heron to stand at that perfect spot at just the right time?

Very pretty, that's such an exquisite view you have. There's no water within miles of us!

Beautiful delicate colours, Sallie, and the heron and his watery reflection is an absolute plus!

Love the beautiful colours, it doesn't look like the evening sky though.

Thanks for your comments on my NZ blog. I'm glad you know the story of my move and can appreciate my love of the scenery.
As for the 'fringe festival', I don't know if google would be of any help, so I will explain. A few years ago, the area started a Rhododendron festival of gardens and organized a list pretty gardens to visit in the spring. Apparently, they got uppity about two gardens and threw them out, so those two started a 'fringe' festival of gardens that runs at the same time each spring. The fringe gardens are cheaper to visit (sometimes free) and encompass the essence of the first festival before they got 'too good' to be free. Hope that helps.

Your beautiful pastel sky was just like we had this evening off my back deck.
Nice reflections too. 'Inkwash' is a great term for them.
As a whole, a lovely idyllic scene!

It's a really awesome scene, i love how pinkish the sky is which we seldom have here in California, I think. It's mostly orange or darker.
