Seen on the outside wall of the Nav-A-Gator Grill in Lake Suzy (on the Peace River):
We saw the sign and we ate there anyway!
The restaurant bills itself as "a genuine old-style Florida fishcamp type restaurant." We're newbies around here, so I'll take their word for it.
We were there with 50 or so other people from our RV Park for lunch and a trip on the tour boat. The food was actually OK with excellent service for the large group. (I didn't see anybody trying the beer, so I don't know how it was.)
This post is linked to SIGNS SIGNS. Thank you Lesley.
I'd definitely go too. That sign makes it more appealing.

It would have been a hoot to go there! I'm glad you did.

I think the old fish camps are the only place you can get good fried fish and hush puppies!

Great sign! It sounds like a fun adventure (both the tour and the restaurant). Keep having fun!
We are in our RV, also camped next to a river...

Not too bad service with a "Welcome" !

What a great and funny sign!

Hope that that isn't boiling beer.

ha that is funny....i would hope everything is great with a sign like that!

That is a funny sign. I wonder if it ever turns off people from going inside? We came across a similar sign outside a hotel in the bush miles from anywhere.

HOT Beer, surely they are kidding right? Great sign, Sallie!

This sign shows that the pub owners have a great sense of humour and they will be sure that their customers won't complain, because they were warned !

The sign would be enough for a contrary person like me to try it out.
Posted by: Carver | February 27, 2013 at 06:48 PM
How fun! That sign would draw me in as well!

False advertising! But it's a fun sign. Warm beer is fine if it's certain types (yes, I'm from England originally).

LOL

I want that sign to hang in my kitchen!

Great sign Sallie. I love the name of the old style fishcamp eatery.

Great sign Sallie- love the name of the old style fishcamp eatery ~:)

I would accept room temperature beer, but not hot!
Posted by: Lesley | February 27, 2013 at 04:19 PM
Sallie, you find the best signs! I would love to eat at a genuine fish camp-type restaurant. Mmm, fish... [You realize I live in the desert, far from any water...]

Looks like an old sign. The restaurant must be okay if it is still there. Hot beer just doesn't sound good.

I've seen a sign similar to that and the food was good and the beer was cold! Good catch. ;-)

You are a good sport!

Fascinating and original sign.
Well if the proprietors were "pommy", then the beer may have been HOT!
I think it is funny - a "Nav-A-Gator Grill on the Peace River". The emphasis on the "Gator" part??
Good to know the food and service was good, you sometimes get great surprises at the most unexpected places (Restaurants, bistros and bars). The 5 star ones can be disappointing and the little out of the way ones, real eye openers.
Love your Sign Blogs. Very clever.
Cheers

Thanks for the laugh Sallie. I think I'll make a few signs like that and post them on a few doors - it beats posting reviews online.

How funny! You are brave my friend! Enjoy your week!

A little reverse psychology advertising? LOL I would have been afraid to step foot in there so I applaud your bravery. :)
Posted by: Gail Dixon | February 27, 2013 at 10:14 AM
a little truth in advertising - or just setting the bar extra low so you're impressed. :)
Posted by: TexWisGirl | February 27, 2013 at 10:11 AM
It would be worth going there just for this photo! Glad the food was OK!
