Gaelyn

It will probably change more as tourists continue to visit.

Jenn Jilks

Such a lovely series!

Pat

Love your photos, especially the first one, it is amazing!
I like folk art more than most, but chainsaw art was never high on my list. It sure looks like a beautiful place...

I remember that quake in 1964. It was on Easter Sunday. We heard about it coming out of church. It had snowed that year for Easter. Your words and how the town of Seldovia suffered, still does from effects of the fishing industry, brought it to mind.

Those blue flowers look like Icelandic poppies. Just gorgeous.

Molly

Love the reflections in the water in the top image

This place looks super cute! Love your reflection shot.

I love discovering places like that. It must have been quite the town back in the days. Lovely scenery. I think I would have bought that puffin sculpture and tied it on top of the RV ;)

Penelope Puddlisms

The community does looks a little forlorn and abandoned but brightened by visitors and the pretty blue flowers.

Wow, what a great reflection of houses on the water at Katchemak Bay♡♡♡ I'm happy for your wonderful stroll at Seldovia enjoying BEAUTIFUL scenery; just felt sorry for the earthquake as we experience a lot here.
Have a GREAT tripping week ahead, dear friend Sallie♪

Sending you Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

I am enjoying your trip thru Alaska. This town is pretty but sounds like they need some help. I love the carvings, especially the Puffin! Have a happy week!

Just spectacular landscape pictures again. I am SO jealous of your time in the Arctic. It must be magical.

Aimee

LOVE this post! What a unique and very beautiful place. Island homes fascinate me and I can imagine, quite easily, living here -- or at least visiting:)
Stay cool this week!
Blessings,
Aimee

That is my kind of excursion. Slow going out, some time to eat and walk around, and then get back faster.

Felicia

gorgeous scenery.

Some of these images make me think of the Adirondacks and New England--and some are of a totally different world! What a place. Thanks, my friend.

Barb

You could get one of those fixer-uppers, Sallie. I'd come to visit. Love that tranquil first shot.

Dina Johnston

Beautiful shots! Looks like a cool place. You guys were really off the beaten path,, at least for most Alaskan tourists.

The first shot of the reflection is gorgeous. You got some great ones also of the snowcapped mountains and trees. The puffin piece is really beautiful...would love to have that in my garden.

Carver

What a fascinating place to explore.

Dianne

Very nice photos. I am gaining a better sense of Alaska via your eyes. Heretofore, I imagined it as a place to see icebergs.
