The Boardwalk at the Slough, early February 2015
I know that walking at Six Mile Cypress Slough makes me feel happy --
-- and so does linking to Theresa's GOOD FENCES and to Gemma's SCENIC WEEKENDS. Thank you to both of these great hosts (and amazing bloggers).
A walk I would definitely enjoy.

Such beautiful light through the leaves of the trees along the boardwalk. And a great play of shadow shapes.

The indigenous people thought of places like this as luminal...portals into the "other" world. Beautiful!

I could do that boardwalk. It looks like fun. And I annoy people with my sense of optimism despite the circumstances.

Very pretty! We have boardwalks like that here in some of our parks. Once I was walking along on one and noticed a huge alligator sunning himself in the sand. He was so still, I almost didn't see him at first.

I have walked that kind of area in the Everglades and it is quite wonderful, but I do remember once that the biting insects were ferocious.
