We're trying to take advantage of every sunny day this time of year so, there have been lots of downtown walks. This is a small collection of the City's whimsy and wonder.
These acrobatic animals (skunks? otters? who knows?) reside at the corner a block away from our apartment. The top fellow has usually been given a flower of some kind to chew on. (But one day he had a mushroom.)
An understated and pretty window at a jewelry and gem store. This was their Halloween window.
Fall leaves are still so pretty! The espaliered branches (in the middle photo) are along a wall of a parking garage. I think that's really neat!
Some daytime views of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts. We walked there one evening last week for a show. What a nice advantage of City living! (We saw the revival of the musical "42nd Street" by a Broadway touring company.)
So that's OUR downtown WORLD this week -- lots to see, lots to do. We like living here!
Thanks to Judith for hosting MOSAIC MONDAY and to the hosts of OUR WORLD on Tuesday (Lady Fi, Sandy, Sylvia, Gattina, and Arija)
Lovely photos. I'm happy to travel with you!

A delightful downtown area and I like the whimsical figures. The performing arts centre is very modern looking, I'm sure the musical was good.

I love whimsy and those cute critters are perfect.

I have to say that walking to see a play or to shop for groceries or a gift is a privilege in modern times when too often one needs to fight traffic to get anywhere. The jewel-adorned pumpkin and the autumn English Ivy that sparkles in the rain bring creativity and liveliness to the gray.

Good for you for living life to the full and enjoying your home town - 42nd Street sounded fantastic!

Could those animal sculptures be otters? they are very cute! The pumpkins are very pretty decoorated with jewls, as were the autumn trees in thier fall color. Enjoy the good weather, Sallie. We may get our first inches of snow this week--I'm ready for it.

Thanks Sallie for sharing your walk in your city! Thanks for your visit and comment. This Anders Breivik was treated very badly as a child by his mother, who abused him in all possible ways. according to Google.
Have a great week, Sallie.

Yes I can see the advantages of city living - the culture, the restaurants, the shopping etc. Then I read about or see on TV the problems that cities like London, Manchester and Birmingham have and decide that I prefer to live a little more remote. There's always the car, bus or train and I'm in the city in an hour but then can't wait to leave.

Sounds like you're having a great time. The Hult Center is an architecturally intriguing place. And lots of whimsy in your town. When are you heading back to SW Florida where everybody is not weird? :)

After looking at your post I had to google the Hult Center. What a wonderful place that is making a major contribution to the quality of life in your area.
