I think these are Willets -- and I think they got up too early in the morning. By 10 a.m. they were ready for their morning nap!
It was a gray and cool (for Florida) morning at Bunche Beach. The good part was there were very few people on the beach (a rarity in this part of Florida during the season).

Nice pics of these puffy little cuties.

Such a cute photo...napping in place! :-)

I know what you mean when you say there were unusually few people on the beach. There are always bunches there so that is definitely an oddity. That yawning bird cracks me up. A real cutie pie with a real personality in this shot. genie

I've missed you Sallie! Enjoyed this photo so much; especially the little guy yawning in the background. You capture so much fun in nature.

Again a beautiful picture! Thank you for your comment. It is a pity that a lot of people have to be killed in those horrible and senseless conflicts. There are no winners.

What pretty birds. By 10AM I'm ready for a morning nap too, but they wouldn't appreciate that at the office!

Dearest Sallie; Oh, Lovely scene of Willets under the bit cold season. I smiled with the cute yawning face and the way they trying to be warmer putting their head back :-)
Thank you SO much for your sweet comments. Trying to catching up my friends' blog. So cold here but enjoyed the first a bit piled snow fall(♡^.^♡)

I love the shore in winter. Matches my melancholy. Birds don't care.

They are beautiful--and a gorgeous photo--worth waking up for?

I looked at this page in the early morning, when it was -4C outside and I was waiting for the sun to come up and melt the ice on my car!
The photo really made me smile: a lovely capture. I wondered whether it was a young one with its beak open, squawking for food.

Very cute they are all huddled up like that. Great photo! It is chilly up this way. Snow expected in a couple of days.

Looks like they're hunched up against the colder than usual weather. They wouldn't like it here where I am!

Fabulous shot! The beaches have been empty for good reason! But there is more to a beach than just swimming. I may just head out to one today and just toast while watching the birds.

I hope their naps were well deserved!

I love seeing these Willets, though I would not be standing on one leg if I needed a nap. :)
Posted by: Penny | January 19, 2016 at 06:24 PM
They're all standing on one leg:) I know what you mean - it was the same at the South. Calif. beaches - really the only time good for taking pics!
