I can't say I've ever seen a limpkin but may have and not known the name of the bird. Great photos to help ID it in the future.

I must admit, I have never heard of a limpkin before. The first two photos are especially fascinating. And love the ruffled feathers in the second photo.

Thanks you Sally - I had to laugh at your comment -no I don't like to climb stairs, or mountains, and I have the biggest excuse in the world: painting! About the sassy - I was referring to the conversation between the officer and me, not to the hair (I was kind of wary of the things that were asked in the scavenger hunt, so to change my attitude, I decided to make it a funny thing:) ).
Thank you for thinking of SEASONS - the link is now open, please don't forget to go to my blog and leave one of your stunning photos! Wow, if I could get so lucky to see what you captured!

What an interesting bird....thanks for the introduction....it's the first time I've seen one! Birds can be fascinating when preening themselves - if only we take time to look.
Enjoy your week!

Hello Sallie!:)Great shots of the Limpkin! What lovely plumage they have, and sweet expressions too. I don't recall ever seeing a Limpkin in any of our parks. Thank for sharing the photos, and the humorous captions.

What beauty -and what fun! I particularly like the close up, which is such a splendid shot I feel as if I could reach out and touch those feathers. (but, of course, I wouldn't).
Posted by: Penny | March 19, 2016 at 05:38 PM
Their feathers are so lovely! I don't think I've ever seen that bird. It looks like it's wearing a feathered boa!
Posted by: Barb | March 19, 2016 at 05:03 PM
Beautiful, Sallie! Beautiful representation in 3 acts! I'm amazed... I knew that saturday is a good day for going to a spectacle of ballet! I'll wait for the next part! Just give me a sign and I'll come!
*-*Thank you so much for this creative post! I also learned about these limpkins; birds I've never seen before!Alexa

I like the close up … a pose fit for a star and (in the final photo) a berry as lovely as any bouquet of flowers tossed to a stage floor.
Posted by: Penelope Puddlisms | March 19, 2016 at 01:43 PM
Your pictures made me rack my brains as to where I'd seen Limpkins, especially as I've never been to FL.
Then I remembered. The Dominican Republic about 15 years ago

How beautiful! We had never seen one until we started hiking the Blue Run trail to the Withlacoochee River last year. They are just beautiful with all the variations of brown feathers. Enjoy your day. We have rain coming in this morning. Hugs, Diane
