Postcards from Florida -- to wish you a Happy Weekend.
(Subtitled: A collection of miscellaneous pictures for the weekend memes.)
Ocean Dreams
Pictures last longer than the real thing!
(This beautiful florist's bouquet wasn't even mine --
it was sent to a friend and neighbor as a thank you and I shamelessly stole a few pictures.)
A Brown Pelican guarding his harbor under blue skies.
(People or pelicans -- we are all happy to have our great Florida weather back again.)
LINKING TO SKYWATCH FRIDAY (thanks to Yogi, Sylvia, and Sandy); to TODAY'S FLOWERS (thank you Denise); to SCENIC WEEKENDS (thank you Gemma) to SATURDAY CRITTERS (thanks Eileen); to RATHER B'BIRDING (thank you Anni); and to MACRO MONDAY (thanks again Gemma)
I need a warm vacation I think...

What an idyllic setting! I can see why not only birds but people flock to Florida. The shading on your floral photos highlighted the petals beautifully.

Your pictures make me think of how much I like to sit and just look out at the water sometimes.

That Seagull chose the perfect resting spot on that log for your photo. Great shot & the Rose is such a beautiful colour

It is a shame that the old "postcards"we knew before the digital age almost died naturally. But they are now relics. Your postcard perfect photos are all great.

I remember seeing pelicans in Mexico. Just like that too - sitting on a waterside post and watching the world go by (or begging for a meal). That's a nicely atmospheric picture Sallie.

Do you know if pelicans are territorial? Such beautiful captures Sally!
Please add me to your Monday list of linky's (open Mon - Wed. 7pm, Pacific time) and you can use one of these pics if you like for Seasons! Hope to see you there:)
Oh before I forget, that was such a thoughtful comment you left me, about the Japanese father teaching his child about art -thank you!

Hi again! Thanks much for your comment. I don't think you were around when I started blogging. I used the pen name, Jacob Anson, for a number of years, not only for blogging but also for some political writing I did. Then, I decided to use my given name, but now for a couple of reasons, I decided to go back to Jacob for the blogging. I don't really care what you call me on the blogs, just so long as it isn't a name carried by any of the Republican goofballs running for Congress.
You are one of the good people and there's too few of them left, and I'm proud to be your friend and to share photos and concerns about our country with you!

Ah the pelican. My dad used to quote a poem about the pelican whose bill can hold more than his belly can. If I already shared that...well you know how it is!

Happy weekend to you too Sallie. Love all your photos. Pretty bird shots. Beautiful flowers and that last shot of the pelican is a very picturesque scene. Thanks again for sharing with Today's Flowers. Appreciate that very much.
