A potpourri of pictures highlighting different aspects of our subtropical spring SEASON here in Southwest Florida. Linking to several fun sharing opportunities. Please enjoy -- as the funny little lady in the picture below urges!
For SIGNS SIGNS, This little lady lives in the jungle-like backyard of a whimsical little shop called Victoria's. We stopped there on our way back from the Florida Bird Gardens in Naples.
For GOOD FENCES this charming waterfront cottage on Pine Island at St. James City -- as seen through our boat window. We traveled past it on our way to a lunch stop coming back from Burnt Store.
For SKYWATCH FRIDAY -- "just" another beautiful golden sunrise behind the pines. From a morning walk here in at home.
And for FLOWERS FOR TODAY and FLORAL FRIDAY FOTOS, this collection of bromelids and orchids growing on trees here at Upriver. (Except the middle one in the bottom row, which, I think, is a milkweed plant ... that one is from the recent Naples Bird Garden visit.
Thank you to the hosts of each of these memes: Lesley (Signs); Theresa (Fences); Yogi, Sylvia, and Sandy (Skywatch); Denise (Flowers); Nick (FFFotos); and Jesh (Seasons)
I can't wait for some blooms here

Dear Sally thank you so much for your comments on my blog last week. I tried to leave a comment while on my Ipad, but "it" wouldn't take my url (6 times?)
Now I'm on the computer. I thought it would be stunning to see sunsets from your boat (and how romantic:):) )
Many thanks for making SEASONS a part of your weekly visits/travels - always love to see what you have! Wishing you a happy week!

Hi Sallie. That's a lovely view of the waterfront cottage from your boat window. Looks like you are able to peek out and take in all the sights and sounds without being seen.
With my birding head on (what else), that window must be a great hide from which to approach wildlife. I definitely need to come and check it out.

I love the creative way you took the 'feence' shot.

Your little whimsical sign says "Enjoy Yourself" and I most certainly did. Would have loved to browse the shop ... bet there is some cute stuff in there. Love your fence as well ... anything close to water seems to feel special. Nice, Sallie ...

Dearest Sallie; Your very first phrase 'A potpourri of pictures' confused me as the word 'potpourri'only means the bag with the fragrance of flower p:-) Thank you SO much for giving me the chance to know the new meaning of the word, Dear friend. Gorgeous varieties of pictures♡♡♡ Such sweet flowers in collage 'including orchid' and I love the cute lady♪ The golden sunrise behind the pines is spectacular; I wish I had nature worth enjoying morning walk :-)
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*

I love all of these photos. You've captured well the sense and essence of southwest Florida. I think it is nice you have a boat, too, as you see things from a perspective that most of us will never see - being landlubbers! :)
Posted by: Lowell | April 20, 2016 at 03:12 PM
It all looks so tropical, Sallie!
Posted by: RedPat | April 20, 2016 at 03:09 PM
Fun lady with a nice sign. How fun to peek out your boat window to see that very busy patio on the cottage!

La la land is a fun place to be. Love that sign and setting. Most appealing and fun. And the waterfront cottage looks cosy and scenic.

Hello Sallie, I love this vareity of photos. The little cottage is cute. The little lady at the shop and the flowers are beautiful. Have a happy day and week ahead!

Interesting folk art on the "Lala Land" sign. Seems to me that this name is not really a complement, but a criticism of a place with people who have unrealistic views. Hope it isn't meant that way.
Posted by: Taken For Granted | April 20, 2016 at 01:47 PM
something lovely for everyone!
Posted by: TexWisGirl | April 20, 2016 at 01:45 PM
Hi Sallie -
The window with the view is definitely enchanting.
And, the Pine Sunrise is perfect - will make getting out of bed a bit tough for lazy folks like me :)
Lovely flower collage.
Another post done very well!
