 My Corner of the World

How awesome to have such a great day with gorgeous things to photograph. The dragonflies are so cool to see.

Thanks for sharing your link at My Corner of the World this week!

75 degrees on a August day sound perfect to me. A river walk is even better - much much better than a city sidewalk for sure. Lovely dragonflies - they are quite mesmerizing insects.

Sandy

Wonderful pictures. You are indeed luck to have such a nice place to walk. And you're right, those temps are perfect. Popped in from a mutual friends blog, it's aways fun to meet new bloggers. Hope you'll swing by for a visit.

Enjoyed the river walk.

So cool to be so close to walking paths like this. Awesomeness!!

Amy Franks

Looks like you've had some really hot weather, I'm liking seeing the different insects you see on your travels too.

Michelle

Wow amazing dragons…. I am not great with identifying them. Sallie it really has been good in that we had our grandson for several one week visits and my daughter and family for a week. So that has been amazing. Illness and issues with other family members has been stressful…. Michelle

Andree

I meant the white-ish dragon on the bottom RIGHT.

One day I'll learn left from right.

Andree

The white-ish dragon on bottom left is Common whitetail. And it's a male! I get a lot of them. Them and the Beaver Pond Baskettail (what a name, huh?) are the only ones I can ID. But your blue flower is chicory! You can brew the roots for imitation coffee. I think. Don't go doing that until you look it up!

The blue wildflower is oh so pretty 💙

The Dragonflies are magical!
And the wildflowers are beautiful 🌼💐🌷

Happy Weds, Sallie!

Beautiful walk! Thank you for sharing!

We have been less than perfect here. I was so cold on my electric bike last weekend! I'm starting to think about Flovember and summer isn't even over. On the other hand, your nature critters are perfect!

Antonia

Me parece un gratificante paseo. El río tiene una buena cantidad de agua ya hay una buena arboleada, cerca de él. Además has localizado unas bellas libélulas, que han sido protagonistas de tus fotos.
Que tengas un buen día.

Jennifer Jilks

It is great to get out in nature. It is so healing!

William Kendall

Excellent shots!

Ahh, 75, such a perfect temperature for doing just about anything. So nice to have this walk close by. Great shots of the dragonflies!

Lavender Dreams

We are seeing SO many dragonflies here too. Hope they eat all the pesky bugs! Love that really orange one. I need to learn some of the IDs too! Enjoy your week. It's gorgeous here!

You are fortunate to have a river walk close to where you are living. The dragonfly is beautiful.

Traude "Rostrose"

PS: The delicate blue one is said to be a Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) and the one sitting on the wood is a Greater Blue Arrow (Orthetrum candellatum)

It really does look like a perfect August day - and you saw some beautiful dragonflies! According to my app, the big red one is a flame skimmer or firecracker skimmer ( Libellula saturata). (I use Google Lens for identification).
All the best from Austria,
Traude

Sallie - quite the selection of dragonflies. The orange one is definitely my favorite! I was sitting here racking my brain for the name of the blue wildflower - I had to look it up - chicory! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

Pat

Hi Sallie
How fortunate you are to have this beautiful river walk so close to where you live! I'm glad the weather cooled off there--we are sadly still breaking heat records.
I always find dragonflies so interesting to watch--they remind me of tiny helicopters.

Carol

Looks like a nice view on your perfect day. Blue skies, birds, the river, and lots of winger creatures are a great collection.
