Penguins are one of the reasons we should visit the Falkland Islands, Sallie! Obviously, not the first reason because from this post there is a lot of history here.

Looks and sounds like a lovely trip. It's somewhere I've long wanted to visit, and the Penguins are just fab!

Wow, those penguin photos are amazing! The whalebone arch is a unique sight. Glad you had a great visit!

Lavender Dreams

I would be over the moon to see a Penquin or a Puffin. They are two that seem too cute to exist in nature. Thanks for sharing your travel pics. I want to go! lol

Linda

I have missed many of your blog posts because I didn't get notificationsfor some reason. You have travelled to some interesting countries and I'm enjoying the catch up. Those penguins seen in the wild are delightful.

Hello, Sallie,
Beautiful photos of your visit to the Falkland Islands.
I love the cute penguins, adorable photos.
The beach photo looks beautiful, I would love a walk on that beach.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Your post is very interesting, I remember the Falkland war because Prince Andrew played the soldier there, and all Newspapers were full of his heroic achievements. The Penguins are so cute ! They look different as the once I am used to see, or maybe they are babies ! I wished I could still travel like I used to do, I have hope because my health is much better and I feel nearly "normal" (if that is possible)

Lisa

What fun! I've never seen penguins in the wild.

Carol

I'm so glad that walking on the beach is prohibited. Wonderful photos of the day.

What an incredible place! Seems like often, places that are not on your radar and not popular tourist destinations, are the most interesting and memorable.

Michelle Banks

How fun to experience a wee bit of England in the Falkland Islands. I'd choose the penguin tour, too. They are such jolly birds, and how wonderful for you to see them in their natural habitat.

It has been fun travelling virtually with you. The only way that I travel these days. For some reason I can't get your blog to update properly on my sidebar So I had missed some posts. All caught up now.

I didn't know there was an air force base there still. Wonder what type of penguins they are?

Soma @ InkTorrents.com

Such a wonderful trip!! I am also glad that they closed the beach for the penguins' safety. So wonderful you got to see them in their natural habitat. The third one is posing for your photo.

Again, your post is fascinating and makes it clear what a wonderful adventure you had on your ship. You didn’t say how you spent the time on the long no-shore days, or if the crossing was smooth or rough. I’m curious about every detail.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
